Yes!
If your website has advanced functionality, we will update all plugins, themes, and core files on your staging server. As soon as the updates have been made successfully, we will push them to your live site to prevent any downtime.
- If you have access to a staging site through your hosting provider, we can manage it for you.
- If not, WebCare.Live will provide you with access to a staging site our team will create for you.
- If you choose to host with us, our hosting service will make this process more efficient and smooth for you. (check here)
Can you push data from staging to production without overwriting production member data (e.g. Membership, eCommerce, and Learning Management Systems)?
In these cases, we don’t push the entire website from a staging environment.
Based on what has changed, we select what needs to be pushed. Content, for instance, may be manually copied over if it’s database-related.
It is possible to push only the changes made to the live version of your website if the changes were made only to files, such as during testing.
It is recommended only to use staging websites for testing and short-term maintenance. Using a staging site for more than 24 hours at a time is not recommended. The purpose of this is to prevent overwriting production site data.
